Cameras Know You By Your Walk

 Identification by the way you walk is being developed. For example, even if a bank robber has covered his fingers and face, He can be identified by the way he walks out of bank. It is called GAIT ANALYSIS.                                                                                                                                                This means your characteristic way of your walking could soon be used to identify- wherever you are. THis technology could soon form the basis for a new generation of security systems.                                                         Iris scans and face recognition require reasonably high quality images. They also generally require a cooperative subject, as do fingerprints. By contrast a person's gait can be recognized from low quality CCTV footage. Marios savvides and colleagues at carnegie Mellon University used smartphones to record the movements that a phone makes as its owner walks. It can even be used to shut a device down if it registers a gait that does not that of it owner.

Gait analysis or recognizing a person by the way he walks can be used in strengthening security system and identifying people
